Cibodas Biosphere Reserve Management Workshop
Wednesday, December 23, 2008 at the Hotel Pangrango 2 Bogor Management Workshop was held Cibodas Biosphere Reserve as a regional tourism destination held by the Nature Center of Mount Gede National Park Pangrango. Workshop was attended by stakeholders in the management of Biosphere Reserves Cibodas are: the Directorate and the Directorate PJLWA Conservation Area (PHKA DG), National Committee for MAB Programme - UNESCO - INDONESIA - LIPI, Bogor BAKORPEMBANGWIL I, Ministry of Environment and Tourism Office District (Cianjur , Sukabumi, Bogor).
In these gatherings obtained the agreement of the parties involved (stakeholders) for the management and development of an integrated Cibodas Biosphere Reserve. The conclusion of this activity are as follows:
1. The importance of commitment and integrity in carrying out the management concept Cibodas Biosphere Reserve, where the region as a zone Pangrango TN Gede Biosphere Reserve Cibodas core integrated with a buffer zone and transition zone of the parties concerned, including the management of nature tourism, and provision of supporting infrastructure.
2. Important to identify the potential parties involved in the management of Biosphere Reserves Cibodas, followed by intensive discussions subsequent to design development plans Cibodas Biosphere Reserve with the formulation of an integrated Management Plan. There should be firmness who does what and when.
3. Need to build understanding of the vision, mission and objectives of management of Biosphere Reserves Cibodas.
4. The Working Group will be formed to initiate the operation of Biosphere Reserve Management Concepts Cibodas. Establishment of the Working Group can be facilitated by the Secretariat of the National Committee for MAB Programme of UNESCO-LIPI. The next phase could be formed involving the Management Board of the parties.
5. Need to increase the role of Bakorwil Bogor (now called BAKORPEMBANGWIL I) to support the development of nature tourism, especially from the side regiaonal policy.
6. In following up the results of informal discussion, it is suggested that involves, in addition to the Tourism Office, also Bappeda each district, given existing budgetary proposals at that institution.
From these gatherings, is expected to remind the parties involved to further increase the commitment and significant role in the management of Biosphere Reserves Cibodas and presence of the follow-up regarding the management of Biosphere Reserves Cibodas forward
